SPIRITUAL GROWTH GROUPS
Do you feel like you are on a
spiritual journey?
We hope you will allow us to walk with you on this journey and
together we will find the answers to our questions.

People grow best when they are connected in healthy small groups.
We were never intended to live life alone, but we were created for relationships.
First United Methodist Youth
FUMY meets at the church Wednesday evenings during the
school year at 5:30. Join them for a meal and activities.

Preschool – 6th Grade
Sunday School meets September – May.
We are going to start a Children's Church Zoom service at 10 a.m. this fall.
Curriculum: "Deep Blue" with games, crafts, and teaching consistent
with what is shared in Worship that day -- lectionary base.

Nursery care is available for those not ready for preschool.

Adult Classes
Sunday Morning: Faith and Justice meets at 9:15 before worship.
During the school year Pastor John does classes during the week:
Tuesday Morning at 10:00 AM (topics change)
Beginning in October Jana Staton and Theresa cox will lead a Fast Tracked Disciple class for 24 weeks.

SMALL GROUPS
You are invited to become involved in many aspects of the life of our church by filling out the Time and Talent Survey and returning it to the office. Contact the office for more information. 549-6118.
United Methodist Women
Many of the UMW meetings will be held virtually for the time being.
Contact President Peg Plimpton for more UMW information. 542-1543.
UMW meets the first Thursday of October-December and February-May.
All our general meetings are at 1:30 p.m. except for November and May when we go out to lunch at 11:30.
Small Fellowships are open to all women of the church:
*Ruth Fellowship, 2nd Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church October-May;
*Vespers Fellowship, 3rd Wednesday in homes at 1:00;
*Gems Fellowship, 3rd Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at the church September-May;
*Book Group, 4th Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the church September-May;
*Craft Group will be creating various projects.
Mighty Methodist Men
Meets the 1st and 3rd Saturdays at 8 a.m. at homes. Contact Joe Loos for more information. 721-5013
Friday Nite Out
Meets the 2nd Friday of each month for a potluck dinner and fellowship.
They meet at 6 p.m. in homes. Check the current newsletter for details or call the office for next location. 549-6118
Walk to Emmaus Prayer Groups
Both Men and Women’s Groups meet at noon every Tuesday at the Church.
*Walk to Emmaus retreats are held each year at Flathead Lake.
*Face to Face Retreats are usually held in the fall at various churches in Western Montana. There will not be one in Fall, 2020.

Missoula First Methodist Foundation
The Foundation is the charitable arm of the church. Scholarships are given in the spring and charitable contributions are given in December.

Charities can submit appeal letters by November 15 to the church mailing address: P O Box 7646, Missoula MT 59807-7646
Donations of cash, stocks, houses, cars, etc. are welcome and allow us to continue the charitable giving and scholarships our members encourage.
Mission Focus-Core Vision Team
Objective: Create focused vision and action for social change rooted in our congregation’s individual passions for service and justice.
The Mission Focus Core Vision Team is supported by the Mission & Outreach Team, and the Missoula Interfaith Collaborative (MIC) to:
Develop leaders in the congregation with a specific set of skills for engaging the congregation in social mission/justice work.
Broaden and deepen the level of participation among individuals in the social mission of the congregation.
Create focused vision and action for social change from the congregation.
Broaden and deepen relationships among individuals in the congregation.
